This homeowner recently purchased this home and is looking to complete a few projects, one of them being a deck makeover. There are a few repairs needed such as a spindle replacement and a couple 4 x 4 deck caps.
MDF will soft wash deck floors, spindles, railings and rim joists. We will then replace one spindle and six deck 4 x 4 cabs. We will add two coats of semi transparent stain to the deck floors, one coat of semi transparent stain to the railings, spindles, lattice and rim joists.
This past customer called us for their Annual Inspection. As part of our “MDF Customer Care Program,” all of our past customers are invited to call us for a 99-point inspection of their exterior paint job and free touch-ups within the warranty period!
MDF will come in and complete approximately 7 man-hours of touch-up work to extend the life of this great paint job!
The detailed inspection touch up list includes:
Front Side:
1) Fascia trim over the front door peeling
2) Along the roofline (after cleaning could use light scuff sanding and touch-up) most visible 6” roof shingles
3) Vertical trim behind the downspout near garage corner (check with a moisture meter; concern of over 13%)
Right Side:
1) Around the garage doors (specifically top left side of the left door) repair failing caulk and t/up as necessary
2) Scratch on the garage door trim
3) Localized peel on the bottom edge of clapboard (near far-right garage door)
4) Above window left of double window sand and t/up
5) 1 clapboard sand and t/up (damaged from impact)
Back Side:
1) Clapboard edges along roofline over the deck (after cleaning, light scuff, and t/up)
2) Slider door trim light sand and repaint (localized to upper trim)
3) Underdeck slider trim has leeched out (clean, sand, t/up) localized
4) Underdeck slider threshold could use a clear marine varnish

Tierney and Kiernan had recently moved into their lovely new house. They called MDF to paint the exterior of their house and bring it a few steps closer to making it their home.
The crew began by pressure wash areas of the exterior to be painted. They then sanded all areas with deteriorating paint. The following step is especially important because if the moisture is too high the paint will begin to peel, they measured the moisture in sanded areas to determine that moisture content is below 13%. Once they confirmed it was under 13%, they apples a coat of a slow-drying oil-based primer on all bare wood. The crew spot primed all rusted nail heads with oil-based rust-inhibitive primer. And used Shermax Premium caulk in all deteriorated areas where trim meets siding. They also added a full coverage coat of Sherwin Williams Exterior Emerald, Satin paint to all trim, the trim includes all windows, doors, fascia, soffits, sashes on garage door windows & big window by main door. The last step was to apply a full coverage coat of paint to all the siding in the Sherwin Williams paint in the shade of SW7005 Pure White. And chose a dark blue/ green color for the shutters.
