Christine C. and family moved here from out of state and needed a quick turnaround of a complete home project. We're talking paint, installing new interior doors and knobs, resizing the mantle, carpentry in master bedroom, the whole nine yards! Mark was responsive, thorough, professional and knowledgeable. He helped her with not just the painting process, but taking the time to come up with so many other extra ideas for the home. Christine felt it made this company so invaluable. A true one stop shop. He was always on the phone with her helping navigate the big picture and more importantly, the project was completed on time. The pricing was also very fair and highly competitive. Even upon completion, they still remain in contact with Mark as he continues to enhance the home in other ways. Right now we're working on a kitchen back splash!
Joe L. had the interior of his house painted by MDF. It seemed like a daunting task. He had always dreaded doing this project so he put it off for many years. During his intial walkthrough, he let on of his hopelessness towards the situation. After that meeting, it was decided that literally every room needed to be painted: ceilings, walls, and moldings. Even the woodwork was going to be stained. MDF also power washed the home and stained his deck, shed, front and side porches. This project was tackled with a big crew so it seemed effortless. The painters were professional, punctual, accommodating, and meticulous so that Joe's mind could be put to ease. They worked diligently so this project could finally come to a close after needing it for so long. They focused so intently, to this day Joe swears the crew never took breaks. At the end of the day, you never even knew that painters were just working on the house. The completed look was fantastic and it feels like a brand new home!
Kelley S. called MDF Painting to fix and paint the exterior of her unique home in Killingworth. Her previous paint job was looking worse for wear, as it was peeling and bubbling. There was also woodpecker hole damage.
Painters prepped for the exterior painting by power washing the home, roof, and deck. The carpentry team attended to the repairs and replacement of boards as needed to make sure the paint would stay beautiful. This included replacing base trim pieces, four pieces of brick molding around a window, a vertical siding piece, eight pieces of vertical window trim, and a small piece of drip edge. They used Bondo filler on all the woodpecker holes. Painters applied a slow-drying oil-based primer that best adheres to wood siding, like Kelley's home. She wanted to keep her exterior color, so they custom color-matched it using a small piece. She was very satisfied with the repairs and repainting of her home!

This past customer wanted to repair exterior damage to her home. She has holes from woodpecker damage and various peeling areas where moisture is being drawn out through the finish coat.
MDF will scrape and electric sand all the loose and peeling paint. We will then let the deteriorating areas “air out” and dry for 7 days. Next, we will take moisture readings in every problem area to guarantee that the moisture content inside the wood is below 13%. If the readings are above 13% we will replace the wood in those areas. After this, we will spot prime with bare wood with slow-drying oil primer and blend in the topcoats to Sherwood-Williams Woodscapes Solid Stain to match the existing color.
This homeowner had not had a fresh paint job on this beautiful home in about 9 to 10 years. There is some chipping, cracking, and fading that needs to be addressed. MDF will soft wash the entire exterior of the home. We will also sand, scrape, and feather sand areas. We will prime any bare wood with a slow-drying oil primer and re-paint all exterior siding, window trim, door trim, fascia boards, and soffits.
This homeowner had her home professionally painted five years ago. This one is unique. The painting contractor she chose took a very long time to get back to her (3 months) and when they finally got back to her she was in the hospital with her husband. The painting contractor called her to advise her that they started painting her home. She hadn’t even picked a color out yet. The contractor said that it was too late to stop and she would have to pay an additional cost to repaint the house. Attention to detail, timing, quality, and professionalism is extremely important on this particular project. The homeowners have been living with this color for five years now and have been extremely embarrassed as all neighbors can see and visitors to their home. This is something that never should happen and gives contractors a bad name in the industry.
MDF will be very detailed on this one per usual. Our responsiveness and attention to detail will restore this homeowner's trust in contractors. This is what we do best. MDF will come with a color selection booklet so that we can go shopping with the homeowner. Any colors the homeowner picks out, we will then grab samples of each selection and bring them to the pre-job meeting and have one of our amazing crew leaders brush all the selections on the siding so that the homeowner is 100% satisfied with both the color and the work that we perform. Most importantly… THE COLOR!! Next step, we do what we do best and sand down problem areas, spot prime any bare wood with a slow drying oil primer to ensure proper adhesion, and finish with two full coats of paint/stain to restore the look of their forever home. And most importantly, we will have yet another homeowner added to our list of 10,000 past customers!
