Laundry Room How-to

Whether your home is large or small, I'm sure every homeowner can agree that you want to make the most of every room in your home. Laundry rooms are becoming more functional. With something as small as new paint and shelves, you can always turn this often neglected room into a whole different space.

  • Paint colors: Sticking to white and lighter shades will make the most of the light available, even if your laundry room is in the basement. Shades of blue are soothing, beiges or warm yellows will add a warm cheer, and light greys will add color but still feel neutral. Choose what complements your home and feels right.
  • Organization: Adding shelves and cabinets help keep your laundry products organized, but don't feel the need to stop there. Any other house items could be arranged there, or even be used as pantry space. Get creative with your needs!
  • Lighting: Overhead lights are out of the way and can be grouped together. This combination can add a cleaner look, plus give you more light.
  • Decor: Don't leave the walls bare! Hanging at least one thing on the walls makes this place more inviting.
