MDF PROCESSES

CALLBACK:

Tired of playing "telephone tag" with other painting contractors?

We will call you within 24 hours--guaranteed!  As part of our first phone conversation we like to fully discuss your job, asking a

series of questions that will help us better identify your particular needs.

A DETAILED, COMPLIMENTARY PRICE QUOTE:

An MDF manager will come to your home at your convenience

and walk you through the pricing and the process.

Our consultation will take as much (or as little!) time as you

need, because we think it’s fair that you understand what

goes into our pricing.  Since we’ve been doing this for a long

time, we know exactly where we stand in the world of painters:

we’re not the highest priced, and not the lowest: we simply

deliver the highest quality paint jobs at the most competitive

rates.

Systematic price quotes that you can understand – With years  of experience, MDF Painting & Power Washing, LLC

can tell you how long each area of the project will take and how much paint it needs. In the end, you get an honest

price--one you can trust because you understand it.

Quotes, not estimates – Our price is determined up front.

No surprises at the job’s end.

CUSTOM JOB PLANNING:

Smooth-sailing is our goal here. Before we begin painting,

please discuss with the job site manager all issues of

convenience, such as:

Where can we leave paint and ladders at night?
We don’t want them in your way.

          Where should painters park?
We don’t want them bothering you or the neighbors.

          Are standard work hours okay?
We don’t want to wake you or keep you up.

          Do you have pets?
We don’t want to alarm them or interrupt their routines.

May painters play a radio while they work?
It’s your house and you get to decide.

On which morning should we paint doors?
It’s hard to go in and out of a freshly painted door, so

we’ll do it when it’s convenient for you.

What time each day should the manager give you a

          progress report?
          Communication is key.

THE PERFECT PAINT JOB:

Test Patches

A week before the crew begins painting we will meet with

you to discuss and finalize colors for your entire color scheme.  The next day we will bring samples of the chosen colors and put test patches on the house to make sure they meet with your approval.

Power Washing

First, the entire surface area of the house and/or decks will be soaked with a TSP (Tri Sodium Phosphate) solution to

eat away at the dirt, mold and mildew.  Next, the entire surface area of the house and/or decks will be thoroughly washed with a 2700 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)

pressure washer to ensure a fully-cleaned surface for maximum paint/stain adhesion.  In addition, we will even hand-wash delicate areas. The pressure washing will be completed 2-3 days prior to preparation work in order to allow for complete drying.

Minor Maintenance

We will caulk necessary areas to stop and prevent exterior moisture problems; spackle large holes and cracks; glaze window mullions that have crumbled; and perform any

other small maintenance items that will achieve a top-

quality paint job.  Additional carpentry services (such as replacing shingles, rotten wood, sashes, or window frames) depend upon the condition of your home and are not

included in our general quotations.

Scraping & Sanding

All peeling paint will be scraped away and loose edges will

be sanded by hand or with electric sanders--where necessary--to attain a secure surface for the finish coat.

As preparation work is crucial in guaranteeing the longevity

of your paint job, MDF Painting & Power Washing, LLC

focuses on correcting all paint failures before the finish coat

is applied.

Priming

The highest quality exterior priming coat, Sherwin-Williams

A-100 alkyd primer (see http://sherwin-williams.com for more information on SW products), will be applied to all

bare wood, sealing these areas and creating a proper

surface for finish coat adhesion.

Finish Coat

The highest quality paint on the market (Sherwin-Williams Exterior Duration) will be applied to the prepared house.  MDF Painting & Power Washing, LLC will brush the entire finish coat (with the exception of aluminum siding which will be sprayed and deck flooring which will be rolled) in order

to ensure the highest quality job.  Brushwork allows for

even coating, better pore adhesion and a longer-lasting job.

Clean Up

At the end of every workday the crew will take down all ladders and store all supplies.  On the first day of painting

we will ask you to choose a site for a crew kit and for

ladder storage.  Also, at the end of the job the entire work area will be thoroughly cleaned.

Final Inspection

Before the job is considered complete the job site manager will ask you to walk around the house with him to inspect

the work.  If you find anything that does not meet your complete satisfaction it will be corrected immediately.
